Weight Gurus Smartphone Tracking Digital Body Fat Scale : Review

Recently I got a chance to review weighing machine from Weight Gurus. I got a free product for sharing my honest opinion.

 

This weighing machine supports Smartphone Tracking and is a smart weighing machine. When I first saw pictures of this weighing machine on the product website, I thought that you just have to slide your smartphone on this machine and it will scan your weight. Just kidding, it's a smart digital scale but you need to first install Weight Guru's phone app and then use their app to sync this scale with your phone device.

 

 

It's made up of tempered glass and is having moderate weight. It can measure weight in kbs or lbs, you can change it's setting from back panel. It comes with 4 AAA batteries. In short, you don't have to setup anything and this scale can be used at the instant you get it. But you need to install its app, if you are planning to track your weight in phone.

 

I first installed Weight Gurus smart app in my android phone. You need to create your account first and then set your weight goals in app. You can set goals for a week , month or so. e.g. I setup my goal as "I want my dream weight as 110 lb in 1 month's time". I know it's hard but what's the harm in setting high goals ;)

After creating my profile and setting up goals, I wanted to test how this smartphone tracking works.For tracking weight, first you need to weigh yourself then press 'sync' on machine and also click on 'sync' feature in app. Take picture of blue colored panel showing readings, it will quickly show that reading in app. It doesn't work if it's dark and panel readings are not visible.

It shows weight in Kgs as well. You can change settings in this scale to scan bone mass, BIA etc. I measured weight for many times and it showed consistent readings. It also has anti slip feature as it has 4 anti-slip pieces at bottom corners.


This weighing machine works well on flat surfaces say wooden floor. It will not give accurate readings if you keep on carpet, same behavior can be seen in any digital scale. I liked smartness of this machine that you can sync it with your phone device and can track your body fat, weight etc.But in order to do that you have to be patient and try couple of times. I was able to sync my weight with phone device but couldn't capture body mass etc in first shot.  But when you get familiar with this scanning then it becomes easy.

Things I liked most-

• Unique and smart idea.I liked the unique idea of tracking weight by syncing digital scale with phone app. Have never heard it before.
• It's not only a body scale but can measure body fat, BMI etc.

I think that there is always a scope of improvement.My suggestions to Weight Gurus-

• Panel clearly shows and highlights readings but when I play with sync and sel options , then sometimes panel shows random digital codes which are hard to understand. If you can make it more simpler then it would be perfect.
• If you can launch this machine in other cool colors as well then it will be superb.
