Galley Essentials Silicone Baking Cups Review

If you love baking cupcakes , you would be amazed to know about silicon baking cups. These are colorful baking cups that can be used in place of paper cups. I recently got a chance to try these baking cups from Galley Essentials. Their baking cups set consists of 12 colorful cups.

Initially I was bit hesitant to place these cups in oven as have never baked any food in cups made of silicon material. As per product description , these cups can handle up to 446F. I first tried by keeping these in microwaves for 1-2 minutes by filling with pancake batter for test purpose. Cups were fine and didn't melt though my experiment failed with pancake mix as it turned like a mini brick ( Still I love experimenting..)

Next I tested these cups for baking cupcakes which I later topped with Grapes and Raspberry jelly. There is no need of paper cups or round tins,you can directly place 12 cups on a cookie sheet and bake cupcakes. I was able to bake proper cupcakes which tasted similar to traditional cupcakes baked using  paper cups. I found paper cup cakes more convenient when it comes to cooling and cleaning. When I removed cupcake from these silicon cups, there was little residue left.

I don't wash these in dishwasher as these are very small and I find it more convenient to hand wash these. As per company these are BPA free. Personally I prefer products which are BPA free, from water bottles to containers. I think these silicon cups served their purpose well, these are colorful and cute. You can reuse same set for many times and it's easy to clean.

But if you have to bake a large batch of cupcakes say for a party then I would prefer to go with paper cups. I don't have to worry about guests throwing my reusable cups in dustbin and paper cups will be cheaper as well. On the other hand these are good if I have to make small batches of cup cakes for daily routine.
